Tigers travelled to Redbridge for their final league match. Tigers were without a couple of regulars and started with Max B up front. The opening exchanges were pretty even, with Redbridge shading the territorial advantage but Tigers certainly had the best chances with Max B and Jack going close but denied by brave goalkeeping.
George Baker and Cameron were resolute at the back for Tigers and Redbridge were restricted to long-range efforts that were all comfortably handled by Jamie. Bradley and William began to dominate the midfield areas and Max M came on for Max B. Tigers took the lead on 20 minutes when Jack’s corner was volleyed home by William. Jack had another chance soon after but was again denied by the Redbridge keeper. Half time 1-0.
Tigers were much the better side after the break and pressed home their advantage with some delightful football. Ten minutes into the half they scored probably their best goal of the season. William, Max M and Jack exchanged passes just inside the Redbridge half to release Jack down the right wing. His perfectly flighted cross was superbly headed home by William.
Max B came back on and bagged his first league goal as Tigers took complete control of the match. Jack could easily have had a hat-trick but had to settle for 3 invaluable assists in the end. Final Score 3-0.
The 3 points moved us up to 3rd spot although Thurrock still have games in hand and can overtake us. It has been a very good season though and to finish in the top 4 of a very competitive division is a great achievement. Now we move on to 9-a-side and I am sure we will be a force to be reckoned with again next season. Well done boys we are all really proud of you.
