Tigers Tournament

Runners up, we are getting closer and closer to winning our tournament and this summer has been a dramatic improvement to last summers tournaments, so well done everyone for that.

What a day though, the mercury was rising all day and the football was even hotter !

I will add the days results, etc when i get a minute later today, in the fixtures and results section, then in the next week or so i will archive last seasons stuff. Alll in preparation for next year.

It has been an excellent season and as i keep mentioning next year we will be playing our best available team each week, so if there are any of you that have concerns in this regard please feel free to contact me or Paul to dicsuss further, I will text you all when pre-season starts but if there is anyone having second thoughts about signing next year, now is the time to let me know PLEASE!

Have a good break and miss football as much as i will be missing you all and that way we will all be rearing to go when we restart.

Thanks to all the parents for your help and support again, without this it wouldnt be as enjoyable as it is.

See you soon

Steve

Boys well played Sunday, you really passed it around well.

It has taken me a few days to get over the penalty shoot out loss but we have to pick ourselves up and remember how it felt to lose and make sure we dont let it happen again.

A number of teams complimented us on the way we played on the day.

We won 1, lost 1 and drew 4 but lets not forget these teams are all playing in higher divisions than ours.

I have updated the fixtures page and there is IMPORTANT NEWS in TEAM NEWS for the parents to read.

Great result against a team 2 Divisions higher than you, well done boys really well played too, thought you were the better team and were very unlucky not to win.
New Match Report Added

Thanks to everyone who has helped out this year a special BIG thanks to our sponsors TEB i know everyone agrees they look great in their training kits this year, the player of the match trophy was stunning (until i dropped it!!!).

I couldnt have done it without all of your assistance and support. From getting the goals, to reffing, to buying easter eggs, to dropping me off at training, to being supportive during all types of weather, to encouraging the whole team and not jut your child, to lettingthe boys play for their enjoyment, etc, the list goes on!!!

There really wouldnt be a TEAM without its backbone. And the parents are the backbone of this TEAM.

Another thorughly enjoyable season and cant wait to test ourselves next year, we're having a break for a few weeks and will contact you when we go back to training for the summer tournaments.....SEE YA THEN

Tigers 'b' 0 v 1 Woodford youth 'c'

Another really tough game yesterday boys but you fought really hard and was unlucky to come away from the game with nothing.

Plenty of positives to take from the game though, everyone tacked very well today but a few people got sucked out of position and we didnt mark their players on the corner from which they scored from.

New Match report
PLEASE SEE TEAM NEWS TOO

FUN END OF SEASON TRAINING SESSION THIS SAT 04.04.09...PARENTS PLEASEWEAR APPROPRIATE FOOTWEAR AS YOU MAY BE INVOLVED.

0-0 v dagenham 'b'

really good game today boys- a proper mothers day thriller. No goals but everyone enjoyed it and it was nice to see you battle away hard against a very strong team. Sam was player of the match and he has been in great form of late, as you all have. Thanks to the parents for your help today- sorry i was late- car broke down and the mrs missed a classic game, she is disappointed- oh well got to go the washing up isnt gonna do itself :)

Ridgeway Rovers 0 v TIGERS 3

the sun has got his hat on hip hip hip hooray, and the sun shone brightly on TIGERS yesterday, a great win which saw JO keep another clean sheet, HARRISON HICKEY keep up his average of a goal a game and ALFIE POWELL scoring his first ever TIGERS goal, then JACK banged one in with his left foot, happy days.

We even had a request played on ZERO FM !!!!!

Well done boys

Its getting to the time of the year when we have to vote for our players of the year, so think back to the cold and horrible days we have played as well as the recent matches and vote for who you think has been the best players this year, voting will take place this weekend (21.03.09)

I need your co-operation here please dads, whilst we are between refs i need you to take a turn at reffing, mark has done it twice this year and am sure keith has done it more than a few times too, i cant do it for obvious reasons. If no-one does it then we dont have a game, its that simple.

its the same people taking down the goals too at the end of the game so please all help out on that score too please.

Every Saturday after training the boys that have been selected for the match day squad will receive a text from me telling them match details, if you dont get a text then unfortunately your boy hasnt been selected, i cant afford to cane my workphone letting you all know. for the boys not selected theres always a next time

New match report added, brilliant result,

training as usal this sat (weather permitting)

Parents please remember to ONLY encourage the team, i dont want to hear any critiscism whatsoever, even if it is your child....in fact ....ESPECIALLY if it is your child. This applies to training and to matches too.

& also remember to encourage the other kids in the team and not just yours please.

IT IS A TEAM GAME.

I would also like to you to applaud the other team as & when they score a goal or do something impressive against us, at the end of the day they too are only 7 or 8 years old.

Please feel free to leave a message in the guestbook !!!
