Hounslow Hawks get promoted to the premiere league in the first season
Hawks had an official launch on the 23rd of Jan 08 at Brentford football club, where we were awarded £9,000 from the F.A. we also had a tour of the ground. Stan Bowles also turned up and gave us his support, (Stan played for Brentford in 1981 - 1984, and played till the age of 35!) (for more info on Stan click the useful links tab). A member of Hounslow council came and gave a speech, and some players talked about their experiences before and after they had joined the team, we also had a poem read out from one of the players. (see team documents to view them). The day was a great success, and a really special time was had by all.
Hounslow Hawks were invited up to London to meet with our Hounslow borough M.P Alan Keene. we were given a guided tour of the House of lords, and then the team were invited to meet Alan and discuss ways that he could help us as a team.
Hounslow hawks had their end of season awards and party, everyone one got a trophy and we all gave ourselves a pat on the back for being promoted. Counsellor Fisher handed out the awards and it was smiles all round.
Hounslow Hawks were invited to the M.P's football tournament in Chiswick, where M.P's from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales all played each other to see who was the best!. Each country had their own celebrity manager, for England it was Geoff Hurst, for Ireland it was Pat Jennings, for Scotland it was Kenny Dalgleash, and for Wales it was Ian Rush.
Hounslow Hawks were donated tickets from McDonalds to Wembley for the charity shield between Man untd and Portsmouth, the team had a great day out, and it was great to see the new Wembley, and for some of us to see our teams for the first time ever!
Hounslow Hawks had a fun day to try and raise money for the club, we had a sponsored football match and various stalls. It was a great day.
The players would like to thank Michelle Nielsen, Lisa King and Tom Devane, Brentford football club and the two M.P's Pam Fisher and Alan Keene for their commitment and continued support.
