The Rifti Valley Soccer Academy is based in the small town of Rongai on the south-west outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya.
Its aim is to provide football coaching and competition to the children (just boys at the moment) from the Rongai slums. The goal is to provide the children with fun; something to do (to stop them getting bored and getting into trouble); and to learn good values through teamwork and competition.
The coach and manager are two extremely dedicated Kenyan men, Philip and Patrick.
The club is very generously supported by Hughenden Valley Football Club in Buckinghamshire, England. HVFC have twinned with RVSA and have already donated boots, trainers, practice balls, shirts, cones, goal-keeper gloves and man-of-the match trophies!
The Andrews/ Page family (who left Buckinghamshire to live in Kenya for a few years) are enthusiastic members and supporters of the Academy. Ethan Andrews (13) forged the relationship with RVSA and plays for the junior side.
Philip and Patrick's vision is to create an academy that supports a few hundred children, boys and girls, giving them some structure, guidance and a lot of fun.
Together, we will be launching an appeal, very soon, to make this possible. If you support us, we promise to involve you in the story of RVSA.
