1989-2007

The current Hullavington team reformed in 1989 when a group of youngsters from the village approached semi-pro player Pete Philpot. A season of friendly matches, was followed by the teams entry into the Chippenham & District Sunday league in 1990. In the early days the club had a very lively social side and held several fund-raising activities. Inevitably, many of the younger players have since had to move away from the village, but the football side of things has continued unabated. Over the years Hullavington have progressed from Division 4 to our current postion in Division 1. Apart from the players Hullavington owe their success to a few dedicated individuals who have put a lot of time and energy into the club.

The former Village side folded in the 1960's having ran continuously for more than 50 years. Doug Bulter, a committee member during the 1950's has served on the current committee since the club reformed. Back then the team played in the Chippenham saturday League and Doug recalls them reaching the Final of the Hospital cup in 1959 where they played Shaw and Whitley. Hullavington were 3-0 down at the break but came back to win 5-3.

Which brings us up to date with the current team which have reach the final of the WG parr trophy in which we narrowly missed out. Losing 1-0
Hullavington still manged to win the Divison 1 championship in the 2001/2002 season, narrowly beating all Cannings to the title.
The 2002/2003 season was the first time Hullavington has played in the Premier division. With pretty much the same team as the previous season. Hullavington played well the first half of the season and were in with a chance of one of the top two places. But the second half of the season was a different story. Hullavington found it hard to raise a side some weeks and were beaten well on a couple of occasions. With a sixth place finish Hullavington found life in the premier more than comfortble.

3 seasons on and alot of the established player left the team. This left alot of rebuilding to be carried out. The team is completely differant now and is made up of young lads mostly from the Malmesbury area with a couple of local lads remaining. We have been relegated 2 years on the trot due to a lack of experience and are about to start life back in Division 2. Our priority this season is to consilidate our league position and get some stability both on and off the field.
We now have had the same secretary and treasurer for 2 years in a row and intend to take the team forward. This will be achieved by winning games and by raising funds for the club.

This season we were also forced to move away from our ground in the village. The league told us 2 years ago that the facilities were inadequete and either we moved or faced being kicked out of the league. This season we are playing at Buckley Barracks behind the petrol garage in Stanton St Quintin, but are keen to keep our local ties with the village.

2006/2007

Relegated from League 1 to League 2. Lost last game of the season 8-3 to go down by 2 points, a win would have kept us up.

2005/2006

Relegated from Premiership to Division 1 by 1 point.
