The semi final of the league cup and we were confident after beating Lochend midweek in the league at the same venue but things didnt go to plan when Lochend opened the scoring early in the first half after Stephen missed athe ball from a corner. Our hopes were raised immediately afterwards when Danny equalised but Lochend managed to score their second just before half time.
Something was lacking from our play today and the lads seemed a bit jaded but we were hopeful they would raise their game in the second half.
Unfortunately this wasnt the case and Lochend were more up for the match and scored a third shortly after the restart effectively ending the tie.
One or two players tried to get us back into the game, Kyle in particular, but generally the lads played like they wanted the season to end.
Lochend finished the match with a 5-1 scoreline which flattered them a little but they were deserved winners and good luck to them in the final.
On reflection, it was no surprise we had a lacklustre performance after playing four games in a week but disappointing we had to fulfill the fixtures especially when we had no previous midweek games.
Never mind, it was a fantastic season and we should be proud of of winning the league as we were almost certainly the best team in our division throughout the season.
