LET THE CHILDREN PLAY

They stand on the field with their hearts beating fast, the whistle has blown, the die has been cast.

Mum & dad cannot help, they stand all alone, a goal at this moment would send the team home.

The ball at their feet, they kick it and miss. There's a moan from the crowd, a boo and a hiss.

A thoughtless voice cries "take of the bum", tears fill their eyes, this is no longer fun.

If you're ever tempted to shout or to groan, Remember it's a child, who stands all alone.

So open your heart, and give them a break. It's at moments like this a player you make.

So keep this in mind and do not forget, they are only children, not adults yet.
