In Eagles last ever league game, they faced already champions Aztec to see if they could secure second place.
Jem Roberts made two changes with Carpenter coming in for the injured Tom Dent.
Eagles started the brighter side, and had the ball in the back of the net only for Will Patrick's header to be ruled out controversially for offside. Aztec stepped up the pressure and dominated possession for the next twenty minutes until they forced Mozza Roberts into a fine reaction save at his near post. Eagles then took the lead with Dan Evans' cross meeting Carpenter whose shot was parried and ISA ALI finished easily for 1-0. Ali then had another one on one opportunity, but it went just wide. Half time 1-0.
The second half was much more of a dull half, until James Lewis fantasticly cleared off the line 65 minutes in, and just two minutes from another trademark Shaun Thorley corner, LEWIS then fired home his first goal of the season from close range. Eagles held on with fine performances from the back 5 and midfield with the strikers working equally as hard to keep Eagles 2-0 win and fire them to 2nd position.
