18/12/11                     Island Eagles vs. Eythorne Rovers                  Final Score: 1-2

The match started with a fast pace that continued throughout. Both teams were playing well and the game was end to end. The deadlock was broken when Rover’s scored their first goal and took the lead.  Eagle’s continued to battle and the game was of a high standard, however, Rover’s scored again and the score was 0-2 at half-time. Rover’s came out confident in the second half, and were attacking from the off, but Eagles remained strong in all areas and were rewarded with a goal from Emily Murphy.  Both teams had more chances and Eagles keeper Hester Krom made some good saves.  It was an exciting match to the end but despite good effort all round, Eagle’s failed to find the equaliser and the match finished 1-2. It was a brilliant effort from the Eagle’s girls’ against a team in the top half of the league.
