i think we got good playersw in all positions, nick/lee/rob/andy/peter can all play ut top, in centre midfield we got loads, danny, big james, me, andrius, josh can all play there. we got two very good keepers, Beanie looked solid at right back today, probably centre back.. we keep playing other players... back there with mike so a regular partner for him would be good, Josh looked good there today
if he plays there this year i think were fine everywhere this year, quality right through the team, still got sam, craig, urself, darius fighting for places

good evening steve, a honour to have a good team with all differentabilitys and characters. looking so forward to working with the lads this season, bring it!!

anything in particular that excites you about the squad??

PAUL:
skill confidents ability and how the team is taking its shape and thier form in pre season qaulity

good stuff, is ther anything that concerns you about the upcoming season?

PAUL:
communication defence a little bit but with my managerial skills only be a short term problem got tricks coming out everywhere, and with the depth of the sqaud got players who can adapt in defence for a game or so

Nice to here, so are you the man for the job then, Are you Southampton's Sunday Leagues special 1 this year?

PAUL:
i have the ability in all areas and contacts.. say no more, you no im special, wink wink . im hampshire special one

no more players only reason a few new players came in as some we had were a bit uncommited and lacked the ability in the position i needed

In modern football we talk about football being a squad game, however all teams seem to have a spine to the team', What i mean is like chelsea have 4-7 players who play all the time, so do liverpool, then the rest of the squad are built round the 'SPINE' of these players? EG. Terry, Carvalho, Lampard, Drogba....
shall the team be built around a spine? Or, is every place always up for grabs with each game?

the spine is Lee Josh Nick You and Pete mainly but thats just based on what i've seen so far, everyone can earn a place..
