First season in the Northern League Divison 2 after time in Divison 1 it was a very hard and tough season, we started well in August W3 D1 L2 including a well derseved win against Spennymoor Town in the cup. September and October Jarrow really struggled with only 3 wins in eight league games, Cup games we did good we had 2 long midweek away trips to Brilington Town in the FA cup first round prelimnary and Whitehaven in the Ernest Armstrong cup both were good proformances by the team but failed to win either games. November and December the league was hit by the worst weather in 20 years with only 7 games being played in the two months totals for these months in the league were P6 W1 D1 L4. By the time January and Febuary came Roofing were at the lower end of the table and things went from bad to worse with two wins in 8 league games saw the Roofers third from bottom which is a place that Roofing have never had in Divison 2. In March Roofing had injuries and suspensions to deal with and we only got 2 points from from 7 games which is the worsed Roofing have ever been in any league competitions. When Arpil came Roofing had to get 5 points to make sure that we would stay up and it started at Birtley on a very windy day which spoiled the game a little and Roofing won 1-0 with a well placed penalty from Craig Tate, Roofing very next game sucured life in Divison 2 for next season with a great 3-1 win against Stokesley with goals from Scott Graham Craig Tate and Kevin Davison produced one of the best games of the season. Last three game seen Roofing lose 4-0 to Sunderland RCA and 2-0 to Team Northumbria and prenulimate game was away to league newcomers Whitehaven who gave us a run for your money in our league game at home in March, with goals from David Graham, David Blackanmd Kevin Davison saw Roofing come back along the A69 smiling. All in all not the best season for Jarrow Roofing but the 2009/2010 season should be a different story.
