Jed Legion AFC has operated under various guises since being established as Jed Arts back in 1930. The club has also operated under the names of Jed Rayon and Jed Amateurs in its celebrated history.
The club plays its home games at Woodend or Elliot Park as it's also known.
In its history the club has won the Border Cup in 1936/37 and the Beveridge Cup in 1956/57. However, it's only in the last decade that the club has managed to add to its past successes by winning the Wright Cup in seasons 99/00, 02/03, 06/07 and 08/09. The club were also Walls Cup winners in 99/00 in what was arguably the club's most successful season which also saw them promoted to the A Division. Following a few rollercoaster years the club then won the C Division in 2005/06. The club was promoted again to the A Division last season.
The club is currently managed by Derek McLachlan who has been at the helm for the last 14 seasons and in doing so has seen the club through its most successful period in its history.
Derek is assisted by Kenneth Cassie, Barrie Melrose and Robbie George.
The club captain for the 2012/13 season is Graeme Hyland and vice captain is Gary Hunter
We are delighted to announce that our main kit sponsor for the 2012/13 season will be Chips Away which is much thanks to Andy Bathgate. This continues our association with Andy who has moved on to his new business venture and the club would like to thank Andy for his continued support and wish him all the very best in his new venture.
We are also proud to announce a sponsorship from Finlayson Automotives this season who have kindly sponsored Warm Up tops for the players. This also continues an association with Steph Finlayson and his business which has seen Steph sponsor the club over the past few years. Many Thanks to Steph and Finlayson Automotives for their continued support.
