The offside rule 2008/09

LAW 11 – OFFSIDE
Offside Position
It is not an offence in itself to be in an offside position.
A player is in an offside position if:
• he is nearer to his opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second last opponent.
A player is not in an offside position if:
• he is in his own half of the fi eld of play or
• he is level with the second last opponent or
• he is level with the last two opponents
Offence
A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the
ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by:
• interfering with play or
• interfering with an opponent or
• gaining an advantage by being in that position
No Offence
There is no offside offence if a player receives the ball directly from:
• a goal kick
• a throw-in
• a corner kick
Infringements and Sanctions
In the event of an offside offence, the referee awards an indirect
free kick to the opposing team to be taken from the place where the
infringement occurred (see Law 13 – Position of Free Kick).

Lionels Lions have entered the Hereford league.
Beauchamp have entered the Worcester league.
Name changes:
Anchor Wolves are a new team but have effectively taken the Belmonts place.
The Vern 08 are a new team.
Keys Preadators are now Bakery Allstars.
I beleive the Cross Keys are now Malvern Rangers
First Friendly

The first full friendly has now been booked and confirmed.
We will play the new look Beauchamp Victoria FC team, who will be playing in Worcesters Division 4 next season. The game will be played at Dyson perrins school on Wednesday the 13th August, Kickoff 1830.
Subscriptions for the match will be the normal £3.50 for starting players and £2.00 for those coming on as subs (Friendly ubscriptions fees are subject to change however the price above will not increase).
Everyone will get a game as substitutions will be roll on roll off.
Subscription are charged at this rate to cover the following:
Pitch hire
Referee hire
Kit laundering
Any moneys left over will be added to the clubs account which will help pay for next seasons pitch and changing rooms fees.
