First season back in GGPL 09/10

The first season back in the amateur ranks saw KT return to the Greater Glasgow Premier League in Division 3B. After a shaky start, when it was touch and go whether enough players could be signed, a squad was put together and the season began with the League Cup fixture against Craigneuk. A comprehensive 10 - 1 drubbing was followed by a great performance against first division Robslee narrowly losing 2 - 1. The league campaign got off to a flying start with back to back wins putting KT top of the division. The bubble burst when St Pats rattled 7 past KT rapidly followed by heavy defeats to Cambria in the Scottish, 8 - 0 and St Mungos in the West, again 8 - 0.
There followed 4 consecutive defeats in the league ending with a season defining moment as the bottom club, Hamilton stole all 3 points with a 3 goal blitz in 8 minutes as KT collapsed.
There then followed a 6 game winning streak which included victories in the Challenge Cup and an away win at 2nd division Cambuslang in the League Cup. Confidence was back and KT were playing a high tempo pressing game which was bringing results.
The last 10 games of the season were all played over just over 3 weeks with KT averaging 3 games a week to catch up due to the extreme winter weather earlier in the season. KT only managed to win 3 of those fixtures as tired legs and bodies faded as the season closed. Jordanhill put paid to the Challenge Cup adventure.
Overall, a season of establishing KT again, building for next season and looking forward with hope, expectation and confidence to build and move forward.
