Robbie Devlin was introduced as Killie manager towards the end of the 2008/09 season. Devlin watched over his Killie side for the final two games of the season. One defeat at the hands of DS Streetleague, and a final game victory against Andrew Watt.
Devlin will want to bring fresh ideas to the club for the 2009/10 season. He holds a wealth of footballing knowledge and shows a great determination to succeed.
A new era had begun in season 2006-2007. John Cairney took over as manager and Kilpatrick Thistle was accepted into the Glasgow District Saturday Morning League.
On Saturday 21st April 2007, Kilpatrick Thistle got their hands on some silverware winning the Vince McGlinchey Shield. The win kept up Killie's great run in cup finals. Kilpatrick Thistle moved into season 2007-2008 having been on a fantastic journey. They had a mixed season in division A. The history books will say the club finished in 4th position, however, the club were deducted 24 points for fielding players who played welfare football. A very harsh and rather excessive punishment learned.
In Cairney's final season in charge, he guided Killie to the William Drummond Trophy Final, only to be denied glory on penalties. It was a poor season by Killie's standards. A number of factors contributed to a trophy less season. Cairney's final game in charge ended in a credible 5-2 victory over Vale United. The campaign ended with Killie finishing 3rd in the league, their highest position yet in the top flight.
Season 2005-2006, a landmark moment in the clubs history, Killie were crowned Champions of the Glasgow Central Football Association. Celebrations were short lived however when the other member clubs voted Killie out of the league. After a summer of uncertainty, Ian Forbes decided to move upstairs, ending his tenure as manager with a promotion, 2 league cup wins and a league championship, a fantastic achievement.
Season 2003-2004 saw the arrival of a new manager. Ian Forbes became the new man at the helm. Kilpatrick had a great first season under Forbes, Finishing 3rd in the second division which was enough to see Kilpatrick promoted. They also managed another Cup Final appearance; this time it was the Tommy Marshall Cup that gave Kilpatrick their second piece of silverware to add to the cabinet.
Kilpatrick had applied to join a new league called the Glasgow Central Football Association, which they were accepted into in time for the start of season 2004-2005. The end of season 2004-2005 finished with Kilpatrick Thistle just failing to win the Division 1 title. It was a great first season in the new league with Killie reaching 2 Cup finals with 1 win and 1 defeat. Everyone associated with Kilpatrick were proud of the way the first season had gone. After just missing out on the title and cup win, this would give Killie the determination and fighting character that exists throughout the squad today.
The club reached its first Cup Final in season 2000-2001 when they met Shawbridge AFC to contest the Strathclyde Cup. Kilpatrick won 2-0 to lift there first piece of Silverware and the start of good times for the club. League performances were starting to pick up in season 2001-2002. Kilpatrick became a very good cup side in the following years. Cup Final number two arrived in season 2002-2003.
