DATE: 10TH JUNE 2007

LEPTON TOURNAMENT

Congratulations to the U7 boys who went to this 'participation' event and won all of their seven games. Due to a new FA directive on no competition at this age group they didn't get a trophy - you will get one!! WELL DONE BOYS!

DATE: 17TH JUNE 2007

WESTEND TOURNAMENT

Once again the Kirkburton squad excelled in this 'participation' event. Both A and B teams won 4 and drew 3 in this hard fought event. Apparently, if this had been a 'competition' we would have finished the tournament on level points with Norristhorpe (A+B teams), however, we scored more goals than them (both teams - the B's scored 6 in their last game!!!))so therefore ended up on top!! Well done boys, keep it up.

DATE: 23RD JUNE 2007

KIMBERLEY TOURNAMENT

Event was cancelled due to water-logged pitches.

DATE: 30TH JUNE 2007

DARFIELD TOURNAMENT

It rained, but the sun shined over Kirkburton as they won the U7 tournament at Darfield (Barnsley).
Rain meant we played on the astro turf, but that was the only disappointing thing about the event. The B team just failed to get to the semi-finals on goal difference. The A team beat Wheatley 2-1 in a heart-stopping final - well done to both teams, fantastic.

DATE: 8TH JULY 2007

SKELMANTHORPE TOURNAMENT

Tournament cancelled due to water-logged pitches. Due to be resheduled for 1st/2nd Sept

DATE: 14TH JULY 2007

BOLTON WOODS TOURNAMENT

Two teams were entered into the tournament. The B team did extremely well against some 'rough' opposition. They won 2, lost 2 and drew 1. The A team won all 5 games against teams like Norristhorpe, Ilkley, Skipton and Gomersal. Obviously they would have been crowned champs but this was a 'participation' event - you will receive a trophy. Well done boys!

DATE: 2ND SEPT 2007

SKELMANTHORPE TOURNAMENT (REARRANGED)

Kirkburton A continued with their excellent form by coming away with another trophy. Both A&B teams did excellently well, A's winning all their group games, the B's winning two drawing two. However, net result of this was a meeting of the Kirkburton giants in the Semi-final. There had to be a winner and it was the A team 1-0
The A team went on to beat Norristhorpe A 3-0 in the final. A massive well done to all the boys!!!
