Korat United will take part in the third tier of the Royal Cup in 2012. It's another step on the journey which may eventually lead to a place in the Regional League. Korat are in the four-team group H. The exact promotion details are lacking, but they will definitely advance to the second tier Royal Cup 'B' (ข) if they finish top of the group, and possibly if they finish as runners-up.
Unfortuantely, all fixtures will be played on neutral territory in Nong Jork, Bangkok.

Korat United are back in 2011. Again they are competing in the FA Cup. For the first round, they were drawn away to 'Pattaya School 8' (actually a team called Magna Pattaya which you can read about HERE scroll three-quarters of the way down the page to 'EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH TONY JUSTICE - MAGNA PATTAYA F.C').
'The Rockbull' went one better than last season as they won 1-0 in Pattaya and were drawn at home against Division 1 side Chanataburi in the second round.
Korat United's first ever match took place at the Central Stadium Nakhon Ratchasima on Wednesday 7th April 2010.
The match kicked off at 15:30 and in stifling mid-afternoon summer heat, in front of a couple of hundred spectators, the debutants put in an impressive performance against an established league side with decades of experience.
The first half passed without major incident. Possession was about 50/50 but BCC looked slightly more dangerous going forward. Early in the second half, the KU keeper made a fine double save to keep the match goal-less. As the game wore on, BCC's experience showed as they started to boss possession and make the youngsters of KU chase the ball around the patchy, uneven pitch. Despite this, KU managed to go the full ninety minutes without conceding to a BCC side who were third in their division when the match was played.
Thankfully, the match went straight to penalties after the ninety minutes; the players being spared another gruelling thirty minutes. Surely now the experience of BCC would show in this pressure situation? Well, not really. The teams matched each other blow-for-blow for the first four spot kicks. Unfortunately, KU's fifth effort was saved, BCC's wasn't and the Christians progressed to the second round.
The youngsters were given well-deserved applause by the crowd which had swelled to over 300 (helped by the presence of about 50 Korat F.C fans) by the time the final whistle sounded.
Who knows when we will see KU in competitive action again, but their solidly impressive debut in which they didn't look out of the depth against a Regional League side suggests we may be back here this time next year.
