Report

Langwathby travelled to Kendal for their final game of the season with little to play for having narrowly missed out on promotion and already certain of third place in Division Two. They took the opportunity to use this game to try a few thing in preparation for next season.

The away side started well and should have gone ahead when Rob Whitton got into the box with only the keeper to beat but his shot was straight at the County stopper. Liam Brough also had a header saved from a Jamie Pickthall cross.

Five minutes before the break Kendal County took the lead when some good play down the right was followed by a deep cross that was met at the back post by their left full back who tapped the ball home.

Early in the second half Pickthall was put clear for Langwathby but his shot went narrowly wide of the post. Langwathby then brought on John Davis, Paul Parker and Tim Jackson for Pickthall, Whitton and Nigel Jackson.

The away side equalised with fifteen minutes remaining when a Liam Brough corner was met by Tim Jackson whose header was blocked on the line with Dom Lisle on hand to apply the finishing touch.

Just as the contest looked to be ending in a draw, a County midfielder won his side the game with an excellent strike from twenty yards following a quick break.

Man of the match went to Adam Monk for a typically forceful display in midfield, Dom Lisle was also excellent and Steven Hodgson did well in a new role at centre back.
