Biography

Club Secretary is Frank Kennedy who has been involved in Sunday League football in the Fylde
since it was started some 46 years ago. In the early seasons games had to be played at St. Annes
and Lytham as Blackpool Council banned sunday football as it was considered immoral.

Frank played in goal for Blackpool Schoolboys and was a member of the team that reached the last 16
in all England.He had trials with Blackpool FC before failing eyesight ended any chance of a professional career.
Frank also played cricket for the Town team and represented Lancashire at cross country running.

However, Frank continued to play Saturday and Sunday League football upto the age of 52.
He has been involved in football administration for over 30 years and in 1996 was awarded the Stan Bennett Memorial
trophy for outstanding services to Sunday League football.

Prior to helping to set up Layton Institute Juniors Frank had been involved with Fleetwood teams. The sides won the
second and first division leagues(undefeated) and cups in successive seasons before winning the premier league (with a
100% record) and cup.They also reached the final of the Gledhill Cup at Bloomfield Road but lost 1-0 to Mamas.

Despite his advancing years and having a pacemaker fitted and metal plates in his foot Frank still enjoys playing 5 a side
at Thornton on Monday nights.He also visits the gym at the Blackpool Sports Centre where he can admire Juniors star player leisure
attendant Chris Brookes improving his match fitness with the Olympic sports of floor cleaning and bin emptying.

Frank is also Secretary of the local Manchester City Supporters Club and has only missed 2 games in the last 25 years.
He has followed City to Thailand and China and Hong Kong as well as the English resorts of Brighton and Grimsby.

A Chartered Accountant by qualification Frank has been employed as Company Secretary with a local property company
for the last 15 years.Prior to that he was Financial Director of Eastham Kitchens in Fleetwood.
