Coventry City Ladies 2 First Team 0

The First Team bowed out of the County Cup at the quarter final stage against a strong Coventry City side .

Despite falling behind early on, the team stuck to their task in the first half and had to defend well to prevent the home side from going further ahead. Lucy was by far the busier of the two 'keepers but we had our moments on the 'counter attack ' . We passed the ball well when given the opportunity and went in at the break still just the one goal behind.

Despite a promising opening spell early in the second half we were unable to capitilise and Coventry took control of the game . Their expansive game and movement caused us problems, but we continued to work hard as a team. Any chance of a result disappeared when Coventry added a second midway through the half with a tremendous strike . Lucy continued to keep the scoreline down as we began to tire and Coventry were able to secure their passage into the semi finals.

All the squad deserve credit for their attitude and performances throughout the game and we now move into the critical final stages of the league season when we face second placed Leicester this coming sunday.
