Leafield travelled to Marston Green, the current league leaders for their final game of the season. Leafield knew from that start that if they wanted a chance to win the league, only a win would do. Right from the refs whistle Leafield were closing Marston down and did not give them a chance to settle into the game. Within three minutes this paid off with good work from Brogan and Aimee the ball fell to Grace who had a shot which deflected of a Marston player past the keeper. All of the Leafield team were playing some fantastic football and working hard for one another. Ginnie was claiming the ball well inside her area and Eleanor and Isabelle were having a superb game in defence clearing the ball well and their decision making was great. Leafield got their second of the game twelve minutes in when Millie who was making her debut for Leafield won the ball in the midfield which fell to Sophie who created space for Grace to strike the ball into the top of the net. Half time came and Leafield had played their best half of football all season. Having a sub for the first time all season helped Leafield and they knew they had to continue to battle. Just four minutes into the second half after a great kick by Ginnie the ball fell to Grace whose shot hit the post. One minute later Grace completed her hat trick as she calmly slotted the ball past the keeper. The rest of the second half was battled well by both teams but Leafield got what they deserved out of the game. Well done to all the Leafield players this season.
