Lions Have Their Say;
Football these days in the UK has been tarnished with reports of all kinds of incidents on and off the field. We hear of players fighting on and off the pitch in counties all around the country. We hear of big problems on the sidelines week in week out, at all levels. Involving parents, coaches, and players. This dark cloud, which hangs over amateur football, is a problem, which needs to be addressed by everyone involved in what we normally call the beautiful game.
The underhanded tactics that some people stretch too to try and win a game of football is unbelievable these day’s. From players being told to wined up other players to force a re-action out of another player, so that player gets sent off the field of play. We hear about parents causing fights on the line and on the pitch sometimes, to get a game abandoned. These tactics are used to try and gain an advantage over another team, and it has to be unacceptable if we want to clean the game up.
But one of the lowest forms of underhanded tactics we feel as a team is when a person, who is also a coach, tries right throughout a game to target a player and do their utmost to get this player sent off. A person who takes on the role of being a kids football coach, should be trusted to show honesty and fair play towards any child playing football, whether that child plays for that coach or not. If we can’t have a bit more honesty in the game, then the game will always have an up hill struggle.
The game will never be whiter then white, but if everyone including parents, players and coaches all unite in the fight to reclaim our beautiful game. Then the future just might look a lot better for the younger children who are just starting out in football. If there is a method out there that can help this dreadful problem, no matter how small it is, we should all grasp it and try and make all these new initiatives work. Safer football is the way forward for everyone, and the football association has launched a massive campaign to try and tackle these problems. It all cannot be left up to the FA, we have our own part to play in making this happen.
Congratulations lads on reaching a second final for this season. What a great game and even better a great score line. It was a hard fought game and all our efforts paid off. We were definitely worthy winners on the day. We worked hard and got the result we all wanted. A victory against Heath Park isn’t easy, especially in a semi-final. It’s our second final out of three semi-finals, and there is still a lot of hard work to do. So come on lads keep up the good work and lets carry on enjoying our season. Well-done Lions.
Congratulations; goes out to all the lads on getting to the final of the G. Hesketh Cup. It was a good game boy’s and now we can look forward to a great day out at the final. Still a lot of hard work to do if we want to get our hands on this cup lads, so don’t forget always treat every game with respect. We also have a lot of hard work to do till the end of the season, so lets keep our heads up and focus on each game as they come. well done lads.
Well done lads for giving us a good season up to now. Remember were you are and what you can all achieve, if you all carry on fighting as a team. Some of the games this season have been a dream to watch, and we are all hoping for more to come. You are all in a very good position to achieve some good times this season, so lets push on now and show the rest how the Lions roar on. Good luck lads hope you do it.
