Welcome to the official web site for Leigh Gentlemen FC.
The club was formed in 2006 and began life in the Southend Sunday League Division 6.
After a tough first season the boys finished bottom of the table and struggled to win a game.
However a lot was learned from the first year and in the following season managed 11 wins from 19 games and in fairness were a little unlucky to finish 5th.
Admin errors meant a 6 point deduction but the team could feel proud of some of their results including a 4-1 win in the cup over 4th Division side Brittania 2nd and also a 10-1 away win over Shotgate Manor in the last game of the season. This last result achieved with 10 men (9 at the end!)
This year LG will play their matches in Division 5 and are looking forward to the new season and the challange ahead.
Hopefully we can consolidate our position in the division and push on next year.
