Season report after ten games. (26/11/2006)

After a great start to the season in the league and both cup competitions everything was going to plan. By getting through the first round in the London cup and the preliminary round of the Bexley cup we fell behind in the league due to cup fixtures taking presidence over league fixtures. After our six game unbeaten run, we lost our first game of the season in round two of the London cup and this was followed by our first league defeat. We've struggled since picking up only a draw in the league and defeat in the Bexley cup. I'm a little concerned with the number of players we are losing on saturday mornings for various reasons as I feel this is crucial to our preparations for sundays game. Because we have a light squad, if we lose five or six players to other activities or illness on a saturday morning, it makes training difficult for the other squad members and therefore generally leads to training on a saturday being cancelled. This is now having an effect on the team and has coincided with our poor form. I also feel we need strengthen the team in one or two areas and hope to add to the squad soon but its hard finding quality players who are not already signed to teams. We are about to enter a crucial run of three away games between now and christmas which will see us play the top two sides and will shape the rest of our season. Andy
