It was a cold and blustery day at Elm Park for LFB to go looking for their first victory of the season. With a strong team fielded and the opposition struggling to find 11 players the signs looked good. With Fish on the pitch management duties were passed on to Leon.
The game started well with both teams having opportunities to open the scoring. Once Robbie and Matt got the ball on the ground some good football was being played. Aaron had a great chance to open the scoring but unselfishly passed the ball to Fung who was flagged for being just offside (he was miles off).
As the rain started to poor the people on the sideline had to start moving bags undercover. We turned round and Fung was coolly slotting a penalty home. 1-0 LFB. With 11 men now on the pitch the defence was put under more and more pressure with some strong tackling from James Skuce and Nick P's arial prowess was keeping the opposions at bay. Then some good build up play lead to them getting back to level terms at 1-1. LFB continued to play well creating chances until half time.
The Cricketers then took a 2-1 lead which inspired Matt G to go on a long winding run which culminated in his powerfull shot hitting the bar. The rebound bounced around the box before a cross from the right was headed on by the aerial prowess of Aaron for Motty to launch himself like a torpedo and power home a spectacular diving header for 2-2. Not long after, Motty converted another Aaron cross, leaving the keeper standing and frankly just admiring the strike into the corner to make it 3-2. Surely it can't be long before Capello comes knocking can it?
Gaffer Marlon introduced his 3 subs Mike, JT & CHris Kelly in a bid to secure our first victory of the season. Unfortunately the Cricketers managed to conjure up another equaliser and so the game finished 3-3.
Man of the match was James Skuce who played his first full game of the season. Also nice to see Chris Kelly playing his annual game, will he decide to make his appearances more regular? Only time will tell.

In a post match interview manager Fish said "Tremendous spirit from everyone especially after going 2-1 down. Pride is back at LFB, now let's get our first win."
In junior football, should all players be given the same amount of time on the pitch during a game, regardless of ability?
Yes, always. Getting kids involved is the most important thing.
Yes, unless it is an important game.
No. Winning is important at all ages, so the best players should play more often.
