On a snowy winters evening on the 7th of January
1982, 9 men sat around a table in the lounge of the
Captain's Cabin Bar,Captains Road,Edinburgh.
These 9 men came up with the idea to form a youth
football club which they would call the Captains Cabin
They played in the colours of Claret and Amber and played
at Gracemount Park before moving to the original Gracemount
High School, which has been replaced with a new build.
At the start of the 1989/90 season a vote saw the clubs
name change to Liberton United Boys Club this change
remained in place until 1997/98 when during a very
sucessful season the team recieved a makeover and a name
change - Liberton United F.C was born !
Playing in a home strip of Royal Blue and an Away strip of
White, The team now have a base, with clubrooms at
the old Burdiehouse Community center.
Games take place at Liberton Park and training at either
Liberton Park, the clubrooms or the Dip.
For that harsh winter weather we also have use of
Gracemount High School Pitches.
Under the current chairman Moray Dickson Liberton
United F.C has grown in the past year beyond recogniton!
