Well a nail biting finish to our final game saw Little Eaton finish fifth in th eDerby City Football League Division 3 rather than second just failing to convert a draw into a win versus Normanton.
Congratulations to the lads for a fantastic performance in the Codnor 6-aside tournament on sunday 28th June.
The boys made it through to the semi-finals having only conceded two goals in the league stage.
A thrilling semi-final saw great play by Finley Costello on the left to keep out two surging runs and great cover play by James Parker to deny a dangerous breakaway goal for the opposition. The breakthrough came with a well taken golden goal winner by Callum Pettipierre with only two minutes left on the clock.
The final against A.D.A.S.C. Harriers was a very tight affair with the boys really digging in and fighting for the cause, especially Josh Hughes whose midfield tackling kept the oppositon to very few opportunities.
The final went to a penalty shoot-out after a goaless result in normal and extra time. Brett Simpson finished the first penalty with aplomb and then John Haslam brought off agreat save to leave our destiny in our own hands. Callum buried the second and Ashlee Tynan struck home the tournament winning penalty to send everyone mental!
Fantastic lads well done!
