L.N.E.R which is the initials for London North Eastern Railways. And the club and grounds were the social venue for the railway workers. The club or pavilion was on Forty Avenue North Wembley. It was erected on his present site Maybank Avenue in 1923 where there was football cricket and a bowling green at the bottom where the tarmacked area is now. The railway sold the land to Brent council in 1969 then leased it back for their staff’s recreation subsidised it until 1990.Over the years there was a lot of success with all sports, in and outdoor.


The name LNER Sports (senior) LNER St Georges (youth) is held in high esteem by leagues clubs and players in the county and far beyond. The club was formed in 1990. Played in the West Middlesex youth league starting off with three teams at under 15s under 11s and under 10s the under 15s winning the league in the first year. The club enjoyed five years in the West Mid before joining the Harrow youth league in 1994/95 seasons, as there were two teams at Under 10s one played in the West Mid the other in Harrow League. For the season 95/96 all teams went over to Harrow youth league to cut down on the travelling
