We know that there was a Longlevens side in existence before the Second World War, but to the best of our knowledge no formal records exist and looking through the Stroud League and North Gloucestershire League Handbooks, there is no record of them ever winning anything and we believe that that side folded in 1952.
The present Club started in 1954 – they joined Division 4 of the N.G.L. and duly won it, along with the Minor County Cup and the Geo. Sanday Hospitals Cup, which I gather was the N.G.L. equivalent of the Stroud Charity Cup.
The Reserves were formed in 1957 and joined Division 3 of the Stroud and District League and of course, that link has continued to this day.
The next major change was when the First Team left the N.G.L. to join the Northern Senior League in 1968/69 and again, we have been ever present in the N.S.L. ever since.
Other notable dates – The Pavilion built in the mid-1960’s and in 1986 we were offered the lease of the Pavilion by the City Council and the Social Club was opened in 1989.
