Fulwood Academy & Longsands Lynx JFC
Partnership kicks off 11th July 2013
Fulwood Academy and Longsands Lynx Junior Football Club have agreed to forge a partnership which is unprecedented in local junior sport.
After over 6 months of discussions with several different junior football clubs within the Preston area Longsands were chosen ahead of some high calibre opposition to have exclusive usage of the brand new Fulwood Academy sporting facilities.
The deal is unique as it will allow the entire club which currently consists of children aged 4-15 to train together as an entire club and equally as important to use the pitches for all their matches within the Mid-Lancs Colts and Central Lancashire Leagues. In addition to the full use of these amazing facilities Fulwood Academy are also sponsoring a brand new football kit for every team. This will be the first time “one” single sponsored kit will be worn by every team during the same season.
The club was founded in 2005 but the direction of the club significantly changed in 2011 when they entered their first ever team into a competitive league and have since grown by almost 100% within the last 2 years.
The partnership forges strong relationship with the club and its members from the Longsands, Sherwood and Fulwood areas and gives the club a perfect platform for future growth and success both on and off the field. The clubs ambition is to continue to grow and give children of all backgrounds and abilities the opportunity to develop to their full potential technically whilst helping the children build their self-esteem.
The Longsands children have been given an unbelievable opportunity to use some of the best sporting facilities within Preston and possibly the region. This partnership is quite a milestone in the clubs brief history and allows for exciting times ahead. It will help us promote both our club and the Academy within the community and gives the children the very best development chances whilst using these excellent facilities. There is a real buzz around the club at the minute within everyone realising what this deal has done for the club and all our budding young footballers.
The club had recently announced the exciting partnership internally within the club but then kicked off the partnership with a formal event and training session at the Academy which was attended by over 250 children and parents. The event consisted of an introductory tour of the Academy’s amazing internal and external facilities followed by around 120 children taking part in a full club training session on the sports field.
The entire club would like to thank Fulwood Academy, its senior leadership team and the board of govenors for allowing our community junior football club the opportunity of a life time to use these amazing facilities and we look forward to a long term partnership.
