The U12 Kestrels first came together as an U11s squad when the team was created just prior to the start of the 2006/2007 season and were formed from a mixture of rookie players attending our very successful Saturday Soccer School and those simply wishing to get involved in playing competitive football for the first time.
The early days were tough as the squad were very limited in player numbers and playing in the new experimental 9 v 9 format, not easy especially considering the squad often had to play with only 7 or 8 players and had been placed in a much higher division than was expected amongst more established squads.
However, the lads stuck to the task in hand showing a great deal of perseverance as well as a good deal of effort and commitment which was rewarded with them putting some points on the board and retaining their position in the division.
There is a really good squad rapport amongst the lads, who are a real pleasure to work with – though they do have their moments!
The squad are now looking to build again for the 2007/2008 season as they move up to play the full 11 a-side game – Interested, then give us a call
