MCA-s final game of the season was hopefully the chance for players to show that they had it in then to take on the best.
The game started at an excellent pace, with both sides playing fantastic football that was great to watch.
Bar South started off with the better chances and were 1 0 up after 20 minutes when a chipped ball into the penalty area found a Bar South player who was clearly in an offside position the ball was then smashed low into the corner to make it 1 0. The MCA team were furious at the referee who waved away all the appeals.
MCA showed a fight to be proud of and pushed on not allowing there heads to drop by starting to have there first shots of the match. Bar South then up-d there game and advanced forward well getting into the penalty area, twisting and turning the MCA defence Morgan tried his best to clear the ball from under the feet of the Bar South player but in doing so took the Bar South player down, and referee sims awarded a penalty that was converted low into the MCA goal.
Half Time MCA FC 0 v 2 Bar South
MCA were given a slight kick up the backside at half time as the MCA management team pointed out mistakes made in the first half. Rejuvenated and still quite capable of getting a result from the game MCA approached the game with an attacking mindset. Attack was the best for of defence as the MCA forwards had a succesion of shots and attacks at Bar South but nothing could be done to put the ball in the back of the net.
A change saw Brad Hughes replacing Stephenson however this was not enough as MCA were unable to unlock the Bar South defence.
On 70 minutes against the run of play, the mistake of clinging onto the ball allowed Bar South to get in and snatch the ball and shot superbly into the corner of the net from 25 yards out.
MCA never gave in and kept going all the way to the end, but it was not enough as Bar South walked away with the points.
Final score MCA FC 0 V 3 Bar South FC
