Midhurst & Easebourne 0

A superb performance by all allowed Maidenbower Village to continue their record of never losing in the first round of the County Cup. Midhurst & Easebourne's 15-0 win the previous week counted for nothing as they faced a formidable Maidenbower who's 5-1 lose against Bletchingly was the kick-start they needed.
From the start, the home side took control and happily dealt with everything Midhurst had to offer. New signing Danny Craig was fantastic up from and only took 25 mins to open his account for his new club when a through ball by Tom Cousins found Craig who coolly touched the ball passed the oncoming keeper for a calm finish.
Jamie McCoy could of made it 2 nil but for a dodgy bubble at the last minute to make him put it wide. However hard Midhurst pressed, it wasn't enough to break down a very solid back four today. A very hard working Chris Dempsey made it 2-0 to the good just before half-time from a Dan Stoner cross found Dempsey's left foot.

The 2nd half saw Maidenbower continue their dominance and even improve. The game saw more and more possession by the home side and other new signing Ian Maynard only had one save to make and a clean sheet is always a great start. The match was wrapped up when Tom Cousins made it 3-0 and stay top scorer for the centre back.
Man of the match went to Reece Coleman the other half of the great duo today.
