Malton and Norton came back from their two week break and carried on exaclty where they left with another three ints after a good 5-2 away win at Thorpe. Although Malton & Norton did have to wait as the kick off was delayed to an unsatisfactory pitch. Malton & Norton dominated the first half using the wind to their advantage, 20 mins were all that was needed to break the deadline, a quick one-two from a short corner saw Greenleys cross turned in at the far post by M & N topscorer Collins. Shortly after a rare Kevin Oxendale goal made it 2-0, a bullet header from the penalty spot from a Craggs corner. The second half started sloppy with neither of the teams creating much. Malton & Norton battled against the wind and made it 3-0 when Allen was played down the right flank by Hopwood and his cross/shot rocketed between the keeper and his near post. Allen turned provider for M & N's fourth, a neat run followed by a deep cross for Lander who duly obliged with a well placed header. Thorpe pulled one goal back when there forward turned and shot from 25 yards into the top corner leaving keeper Stead no chance. Malton & Norton's concentration slipped when a mix up between Taylor and Stead allowed the Thorpe forward an easy tap in to get his second of the game. Malton & Norton sealed the victory with ten mins to play when talisman Allen shrugged off his marker on the halfway line and powered his way into the box to cooly chip the keeper for his second of the game. Malton and Norton have had a good return from their long trips to Selby with 10 out of 12 points. Next week M & N face Dringhouses who are still fighting for the league title. Todays Man of the Match went to 2 goal hero Nige Allen.

In junior football, should all players be given the same amount of time on the pitch during a game, regardless of ability?
Yes, always. Getting kids involved is the most important thing.
Yes, unless it is an important game.
No. Winning is important at all ages, so the best players should play more often.
