A great performance to notch our 6th cup win in a row. The team were excellent to a player. Everyone was given a job and everyone did what was asked. Kwazi Mpofu got awarded man of the match for a quite brilliant performance but Alex Bateman in net, Lewis McAnaw at left back, Kieran McKeown at Centre Half, Dylan Withington at right back and Sam Qureshi at Centre half worked brilliantly together and were arguably the unsung heroes of the day as Dukinfield were always a threat.
When Sam Qureshi got injured, midfield maestro, Chinedu Uche dropped into centre half to help the team out and Saheed got a chance to show what he can do in midfield. Liam Stephenson controlled the middle with an excellent display of passing and control. Joe did the captains job and pulled everything together whilst Teddy Osipitan, Kwazi Mpofu and Ryan Cooney launched raid after raid; 3 of the smallest players on the pitch were the biggest threat on the day. Even when the changes were rang and the substitutes were called upon, the team focused and again did what was asked. Lade Agbaje came on and hunted everything down whilst Reece Bamford had arguably his best performance in a Tigers shirt. Mohammed and Alex Scanlon paired up again up front to take the game to Duky.
Dukinfield are a strong side and despite the scoreline being 3-0 Tigers had to work to for every goal and every chance. Duky were a big threat at set pieces and hit the cross bar early on from a free kick and were the better team in the opening 15 minutes but Tigers broke and Kwazi Mpofu scored. After that, Tigers began to impose themselves and looked busy and threatening when they had the ball at their feet.
The skill level was good, the composure was good but the determination and sheer effort was what won the game.
A great performance by the entire team.
