MULLION

Mawnan went down to a third consecutive defeat against Mullion, but as on previous occasions contributed to their own defeat by conceding another bucketfull of goals.
Mullion took the lead thorugh Andrew Withey-wood, but Mawnan hit back with a great equaliser through Andy Julian. The visitors cleared a poorly-taken free kick, but as the ball fell to Julian around 30 yards from goal he hit an absolute screamer that gave goalkeeper Chris Spurrier no chance.
Just as in previous games, Mawnan gifted their opponents the lead with a soft goal through Joe Lugg right at the start of the second half and then it began to look all over as another defensive error gave Daniel Reid the chance to score.
Mawnan began to play their best football of the game in the later stages and deservedly pulled a goal back when Stefan Churcher drilled the ball into the corner of the net, but again The Greens gifted their opponents another goal. Mawnan failed to deal with a simple free kick into the box, but when the ball went loose Mawnan failed to react and Mullion's Ross Greet had an unexpected opportunity he was not going to miss.
To their credit Mawnan refused to lie down and gave themselves some hope when Adie Harris scored from a penalty, but time ran out with Mullion clinging on for victory.
Man of the match: Lewis John received the Dickie Robertson memorial cup from Colin Bate.
