NOTICE BOARD
CLUB AGM (07/05/2008)

This years meeting takes place on Thursday 26th July 7.30pm at Milton Community Centre. This sounds a long way off but please put the date in your diary's as it is important that we have a good attendance. This is a very important night for the Club as your committee and officers are elected in preparation for next season. Chris Drummond our secretary has decided to step down, and it is likely there will be other officer and committee vacancies. It is absolutely vital that we have volunteers coming forward, as the Club can not run without these positions being filled. To help the future Secretary we would like to try to divide some of the role. We would particularly like to hear from anybody else who feels willing and able to take on one or two specific tasks. Firstly to take minutes at committee and managers meetings (about 8 meetings a season), secondly to produce a Club newsletter 3 times a season.

Valentines Ball (07/05/2008)

On behalf of everyone within the Club I would like to thank the handful of people who organised and managed this very successful event. Particular mention should be made to Sarah Brooke who Chaired the group and organised things on the day. Around £1500 was raised for the Club, which is a fantastic sum of money for the group first fund raising event. (Other members of the group were Rebecca Aldhouse, Charlotte Collen, Clare White, Caroline Twinn, and Heather Wallis. (Our thanks to you all)

Presentation Evening Saturday 17th May 2008 (07/05/2008)

This year we are trying a different format for the evening. We plan to start at 6.00pm (first presentations start at 6.30pm sharp) Ticket prices Adults £6.00 Children £3.00. (which will include one food item). Food will be a Bar-B-Q provided by Milton Scouts plus we hope to have a children's bar. To assist with catering as in previous years all food MUST be pre-ordered and paid for prior to the evening and at the very latest by Friday 9th May. All details and order forms are available through your team managers. We would be grateful for any Raffle Prizes that people may wish to donate to assist in raising funds on the night for the Club (please pass these prizes onto your team managers).

Registration Evening 2008/09 (07/05/2008)

Signing on evening for next season will be Thursday 17th July at 7pm in the Community Center. I am sure most teams will be on the lookout for new players particularly next seasons under 8's and 9's.

Well Done to our Secretary Chris Drummond (07/05/2008)

Our hard working Club Secretary who completed the London Marathon last weekend. Chris went round in 4 hours 40 minutes improving on last years time. His efforts were not just for 'fun' he is raising money for Spinal Research, a charity that helps those with spinal cord injuries. It's not too late to sponsor Chris and help him beat the £2,000.00 he raised last year, you can either speak with Chris direct or go and donate on www.justgiving.com/chrisdrummond your support will be much appreciated.

Under 11's Cup Final (07/05/2008)

Congratulations to the under 11's who reached the final of the Colts League knockout Cup. They played very well in a very close game, narrowly losing 2-1 to Histon Hornets.

Tesco Sports Vouchers (07/05/2008)

Thanks to everyone who collected these on our behalf particularly to Tim and Emma Tyrrell who collated them all ready to be sent off. We collected around 9500 which were used to obtain new first aid kits and some additional footballs.

New Football Pitches (07/05/2008)

As a Club we continue to work with the Parish Council in trying to obtain more pitches within the village for Colts Football. There has now been two exhibitions for the proposed retirement village at the back of Milton Hall and it is a possibility that if this went ahead we could get the use of some additional pitches. Hopefully those of you who are Milton residents highlighted the need for further pitches within the Parish Plan Questionnaire! Thanks to Paul Issacson who recently completed the Clubs 'Development Plan'. We now await news from the Football Association on our application to become a Community Club.

Free Training for Milton Colts Goalkeepers (07/05/2008)

Paul Newton will be attending a level 1 goalkeeping course in early April. The objective is to provide Milton Colts with a qualified goalkeeping coach. The intention would be to run weekly training session for all Colts keepers, divided into two one hour sessions, one for younger teams (ie. U8, U9, U1O,U11) and the other for older teams (ie. U12, U13, U14, U15, U16). If you have more than one goalkeeper per team or potential keepers they will all be welcome. This training session would be restricted to certain times of the season because of lack of light in the winter and would therefore be held pre-season and early season in the first instance. Paul currently manages the Under 15's boy's team and helps with the Under 13 girls. He has been goalkeeper for Milton's senior team for over 25 years and hopes his experience and passion for goalkeeping will be of benefit to the Colts. If you would like more information Paul can be contacted on: 01223 560492 or by email paulo1@ntlworld.com

5-A-side Courts (07/05/2008)

We are grateful to Milton Community Center for arranging for the 5 aside football court to be resurfaced with an Astroturf material. This is much more suitable than the previous asphalt material. I would remind team managers to book the court now if you wish to use it over next seasons winter months.

Milton Parish Council Grant (07/05/2008)

We are extremely grateful to Milton Parish Council once again for the grant we received of £1 000 recently. This money goes a long way in helping us to offset the additional costs we have incurred with four ofour teams having to play their 'home games' outside the ofMilton.
