Sam Spencer is a solid centre half, loves to get stuck in the mix and throw some hard tackles in. Again another player for the future, he came to us in the summer of 2011 from Orford FC, he made an impact on his debut against Whaley Bridge, making some great challenges and man marking their centre forward superbly. He does have a reputation of getting booked often but as he grows and matures I'm sure he will learn! Although starting the season well for the first he thought he wasn't playing well and asked to play for the reserves where he could gain confidence , the bookings seemed to have stopped and he at centre half with Kyle Gallagher made a great pairing and helped the team to prevent conceding goals. He was back in the fold for the first team at the end of the season and kept up his performances he was producing for the reserves.
