Moor Row FC was founded in 1972 playing in the Egremont & District Sunday Football League.
Enjoying some success in the late 80's the club achieved a League and Cup double.
More recently in 2005 the club lifted the 2nd division Cup, the following year wining the league and promotion to the 1st division under the management of 'Pob' lookalike Peter (Vini) Riley.
Enjoying a year in the top flight the club unfortunately found themselves relegated by a single point after loosing the last game of the season.
At the end of 2007 Billy Redden (Redkegs) took the reigns to finish the Season and was in full control for the 2008/09 Season. The Club managed an encouring push up the Table finishing 4th and narrowly missed out in the Division 2 League Cup Final going down 3-2 to The Whittington Cat.
With Moor Row fighting for promotion in the previous Season Redkegs Squad were confident of going one better in the 2009/10 Season. However the expectations weren't met and after a run of 14 straight defeats and elimination from 3 Cup Competitions Redkegs decided to stand down. Kevin Fitzwilliam (Fitzuardiola) replaced Redkegs and got off to a flying start with a win in his first game in charge. After a bit of a bumpy ride performances improved dramatically and although the Club were too far behind to make an impression on the league they did manage to catch up with the pack. A heart breaking 88th minute loss to Frizington Whitestar in the Division 2 League Cup Semi Final ended Moor Row's Season.
A bright start to the 2010/11 Season saw Moor Row feeling they had a chance to claim some honours and push for promotion, however problems off the pitch spilled over and after Christmas a dismal spell of results looked set to destroy the Season. However Fitzuardiola got the troops back to good harmony and 10 wins from the last 13 games helped push Moor Row into a positive 4th place in the League and helped them claim a memorable 2-1 Division 2 Cup Final win over the League Champions
The 2011/12 Season began with Fitzuardiola resigning as he felt he had taken the Club as far as he could after a successful season. Simon Wenger and Carl Rice took control of the club with the aim of promotion to Division 1. A strong push for promotion was on the cards as Moor Row were still in contention with 5 games to go, but a series of injuries and absences left the Row low in numbers resulting in a string of defeats. A controversial exit in the Semi Final of the Presidents Cup left Moor Row with a sole Final in the JDM Trophy, against the strong favourites Mirehouse FC. Arguably the greatest performance by the recent Moor Row side gifted them a 3-0 lead with only 10 minutes remaining, however Mirehouse fought back to bring the scoreline to 3-2, but Moor Row hung on for a memoriable victory.
