Club History 2007-Present

The Model T FC was est in 2007. They entered Division 3 of the Northern Echo Darlington Sunday Invitation League and played their home games at Hummersknott School.

As with many amateur teams, they didn't get off to the best of starts: lack of players, new faces each week etc lead to a losing streak of their first nine games in a row. They managed to turn it around and finished mid-table in their first season.

2008-09 started with high hopes all round, and were joint top after 3 games. But due to building works they were left homeless and that along with injuries, lack of consistency and various other factor combined to leave them with another disappointing mid-table finish.

The Model T finally tasted success in 2010, by gaining promotion to the DSIL Division 1.

They also competed in the LSPL, which gave them the chance to play at Old Trafford, unfortunately it wasn't to be.

Despite missed opportunities they still had some memorable moments along the way, the highlight being a late night at the RA which saw them tame the Bengal Tigers 9-2 and clinch promotion.

The final whistle also signalled a goodbye from some old friends- Dan 'King of the Wing', Chris 'Buster' Harrow and Craig Malcolm among the T stalwarts deciding it was time to say goodbye.

As old heroes fade into sands of time, new ones rise like statues- debutante Pete Dawson among those to make a lasting impression; taking the Player of the Year award, whilst Irish hit-man, Flor Kerins, made it an equally memorable season by grabbing 29 competitive goals.

The T also did their bit for the local community by raising over £400 for charity.

However perhaps the most abiding memory will be that the Model T finally played their last game as the club chose a new direction.

200-11 could be the most interesting chapter in the clubs history as the newly named Mowden FC make their debut in the top flight.
