As with last season, in order to track players 'improving' fitness, we'll be conducting some timed tests, and recording the results on a regular basis. Each time these tests are recorded, they will be uploaded to the site here. This will give you an idea of your fitness levels, and give you a target to beat. The tests will cover Sprints over 35 metres and 220 metres staggered sprint, Agility Runs over 80 and 100 metres, and Bleep Test as detailed in separate update. The results will show the latest players performance data, plus each players previous best time or performance. As these tests will not be easy, we won't tell you in advance which week we'll be doing them. Obviously.
The standard tables showing maximum distance, times, levels and shuttles can be viewed in the attachement. To run all 21 levels means running just shy of 5km ! The good news is you're not expected to acheive that for the first couple of weeks !
The Bleep Test also shows the maxmium oxygen uptake based upon the distance you run in total. The further you run, the better your oxygen uptake, and obviously fitness and stamina levels. The normal standard maximums ranked good, bad and very poorly can be viewed in the attachment.
First bleep test of season 2010/11. And a pretty good baseline fitness levels.
First Compass test for 2010/11 season, and a steady baseline from which to work from.
The first 100m Agility test for 2010/11, and again, good baseline runs for a first session.
First 220m sprints of the season, and not bad showing from some.
First short sprint test of the season. Not bad for a first effort.
Results of the above attached. Much faster times all round (maybe the arthritis isn't so bad after all ?)
Results for the test attached here. Some odd times that may have more to do with the arthritic thumbs of the timers than the players. Maybe we should do it again next week to check ?
Bleep Test results for 13th July attached. Improvments for some, with Fish and Wado adding almost a full level, Fred adding 60 mts and Ash 20. But some failed to match their previous runs. More stamina work methinks !
Test results attached here. Again steady performances with a couple of improvements.
Test results for above test can be found here. Steady performances with just a couple of improved times.
The bar raised again, with 2 players breaking Level 13, which is over 2.3km ! Viera ran almost a full extra level, and Monkey improved on his previous best too. Check out the figures by clicking alongside.
