New quay gained a comprehensive victory over montgomeryshire league two team trefonnen in the emrys morgan cup but we didnt have it all our own way and it took a great second half display to take the game away from the travelling side, the game started well with new quay playing some good football in the early stages, we took the lead when jaime thompson rounded the goalkeeper and finished well from close range, trefonnen then scored a fantastic leveler from long distance to shock new quay back into life, marc davies then scored a great free kick from 25 yards out to put us 2-1 up then the same player bundled in a corner from close range to make it 3-1, then just a minute after, a mistake at the back let the away team in again to reduce the lead to one to make the score 3-2 at half time, new quay were a totally different team in the second half and played some fantastic football to make the score 6-2 just 10 minutes into the second half with goals from charlie dent from close range, wyn morgan header from a corner and another from jamie thompson, then new quay brought all three subs on and each one then got a goal each with chris atkinson finishing well , jonyon evans scoring the goal of the game from close range and dave twin scoring after good work from wyn morgan to increase the lead to 9-2. A well deserved win to take us through to the next round,
