Nominations are open for the 2013 McDonald’s Community Awards, allowing people across the UK to pay tribute to football’s unsung heroes.
Grassroots football relies on the tireless efforts of hundreds of thousands of volunteers who give up their time up every week for their local community.
Come rain or shine, they turn out for the good of the game and without any call for reward but once a year there is a chance to give credit where it is due.
The four home nation’s Football Associations are seeking nominations for their individual grassroots awards, each run in association with McDonald’s.
The awards aim to recognise and reward people across the country who make a difference to grassroots football in their local community – the people who dedicate their time to developing tomorrow’s young talent and help ensure safety and best practice in tens of thousands of clubs up and down the country.
People like Wayne Jeremiah (pictured above), who won the prestigious Coach of the Year at the 2012 Football Association of Wales Community Awards for his work as coach, manager and organiser at Mardy Tigers and PILCS FC.
The awards offer a chance to all those involved in grassroots football to shout about the person, or team of people, that have made a real difference to their experience whilst playing or just being involved in the beautiful game.
Winners are awarded at a local, county/regional and national level so, wherever you play your football, now is your chance to recognise your local grassroots football heroes by nominating them for a prestigious award.
You can make a nomination for your national awards via the links below. Deadline for nominations is 27 May 2013.
