FA launch ‘Opening Doors & Joining In’ campaign

The Football Association launched their Opening Doors and Joining In campaign this week, aiming to tackle homophobia and transphobia within football.

£3m Government funding for St George’s Park

The Government will contribute £3million of funding to St. George’s Park, it was announced today.

The funding for the national football centre will be used to help increase the number of qualified coaches in the country which, along with other specific initiatives, will also encourage more people from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) backgrounds to gain the necessary credentials for coaching and managerial positions at the top of the game.

Government & football aim to tackle discrimination

Football officials and players came together at Downing Street today for a summit aimed at tackling discrimination in football.

The Prime Minister was joined by John Barnes and Graeme Le Saux along with representatives of the FA, PFA, Premier League, Football League and anti-discrimination groups for the meeting aimed at combatting racism and homophobia in football.
