Under 14's

It is with regret that we have to announce that the Under 13 team has folded and will not re-appear as the Under 14's in season 2008-9.
Good luck to all the lads as they look forward to the new season with their new clubs.

The Annual Presentation was held on Saturday 14th June and the award winners were as follows,

Manager's Player of the Year
Dan Hovington

Manager's Player of the Year R/u
Dan Rothel

Players' Player of the Year
Jack Saville

Most Improved Player
Calum Davies

Congratulations lads.

The Stockport Metro representative team returned from France with a creditable 7th place in the Cambrai Tournament played in scorching temperatures.
Stockport won their group with three 1-0 victories in the 15 minutes each way matches.
They were defeated in the quarter final and then in the 5th/6th semi-final before clinching 7th place with an exciting shootout win against AFK Prague from the Czech Republic.
Dan Rothel performed well in goal throughout the competition making a number of good stops and catches but unfortunately gifted Prague the equaliser with five minutes remaining of the match. However he managed to force a Prague effort wide in the shootout while Stockport scored from all three of their attempts.
The team also picked up the Fair Play award for their exemplary behaviour in the tournament.

Congratulations to Great Moor County A on becoming Division 1 champions and to Poynton on their second successive cup triumph.

Norbury completed their league programme with a 5-2 defeat against the newly crowned Division 1 champions Great Moor A and will be relegated along with New Mills who could not be bothered to complete their fixtures conceding four matches 2-0.

The phoenix that is Norbury Athletic's Under 13's has risen from the ashes of Bramhall North's Under 12's and will compete in Division 1 for season 2007/8.
All home matches will be played at Norbury Athletic's private ground on Jacksons Lane, Hazel Grove with a 2.00pm kick off.

The team will once again be sponsored by Mercedes Direct and will proudly wear the company's logo on their new green & black kit.
