Nova Stars. The story begins back in 2003,when a group of 5 year olds start on a journey of footballing discovery, led by Wayne Coombe and Julian Withers. They were taught the Nova ethos very early on, behaviour, attitude, fair play had to be right, football played on the ground, passing and movement at the forefront. Rich Baker joined in 2004 to help as numbers grew. Early friendlies showed promise and when we joined the Under 9's league as Aces and Stars in 2008, Stars and Aces shared the title. The following year saw Aces and Stars dominate the B league and once again occupying the top two places with Stars, led by Wayne and Andy pipping Aces by one point and narrowly losing the League Cup Final. The step up to 11 a side saw the combining of powers, as Stars first sesaon in the A league led to us being league runners up and reaching the last four in the League and County Cup.
We have kept with "home grown" players from Newport and the surrounding villages or players known since the age of five. Good Luck lads for the season.
