CHAMPIONS ELECT!! Final result from Jubilee Field Three Bridges 2 Cuckfield 1. Only a win against Horley on Tuesday night by more than 13 goals will stop Oaks from taking the title - WELL DONE BOYS!!!!!
HONOURS were even at 2-2 when Oakwood and Three Bridges Under 12's met under the Jubilee Fields floodlights in the Mid Sussex Youth League on Thursday night (April 26th).
The valuable away point and the subsequent win by Bridges over their nearest rivals Cuckfield Cosmos on Sunday means that Oakwood are nearly certain to be crowned League Champions on Tuesday night unless Cosmos win by a 14 goal margin against Horley Town.
A large crowd saw a fantastic football spectable between these two local rivals. George HOPCRAFT's headed goal at the far post from a Clayton GARNER cross opened the scoring for Oaks, while GARNER himself buried a penalty to make it 2-0 after Tom HUGHES was brought down in the penalty area.
Three Bridges managed to pull two goals back to level the score but Oakwood were never out of the driving seat.
