Old Bootleians

Although Old Bootleians as a club has 4 sides turning out in different divisions of the Liverpool Old Boys League, this website focusses solely on the 2nd team, who play (funnily enough) in the 2nd of 5 divisions.

Running from Bootle Cricket Club off Hawthorn Rd, Bootle, the team plays it's home games (should you fancy coming along to see some quality "Arsenal like" flowing football) at Bootle High School on Browns Lane in Netherton. Away league fixtures take the boys around Liverpool including Aigburth, Childwall, Crosby and Walton.

After yet another set of runners-up medals were dished out to the boys following last seasons 2nd place finish, theres the usual optimism going into the new season.

The squad remain strong with only a couple of changes from last season. After failing to secure Robbie Fowler Sydney FC turned to Lee Von Bargen, with the transfer expected to be finalised by the end of the current window. Vonny will be sorely missed in the Bootleians engine room and we all wish him well on his down under adventure.

Another player moving to pastures new is goalkeeper PJ, who, again we all wish well on his Dutch transfer.

In terms of bringing players in, the club have been relatively quiet with just Ste Bryant joining the squad so far, although another goalkeeper will be expected to join the club shortly.

So here we go again with another attempt at that elusive league (or cup) win!
