Oldbury Athletic were formed in 1981 and were playing their football in the local sunday leagues, they were formed under the name Wernley FC and were managed by Colin Mander, after huge success on the Sunday morning circuit it was decided to go into Saturday football, Adrian Mander and his wife Mandy formed Oldbury Athletic FC and joined the Midland Combination league in 2006. In their first season they were crowned champions of league division two and were promoted to division one. In 2007/08 season they finished 3rd in the division but luck was on there side and were promoted to premier division, season 2008/09 we finished 3rd in the premier league and then the league informed us due to border lines we had to go into the West Midland Regional league so this season 2009/2010 is a new challenge for us. Adrian Mander decided to step down as manager and appointed Russel Boswell Munday as our new manager with Steve Taylor as assistant and we are fortunate to have the experience of Les Palmer as coach.
