A fresh start...

A reshuffle at the Old Lyonians saw a brand new 3rd XI emerge for the 2009/10 season. Dave Jones took over the captaincy (the only plausible way of ensuring he had a starting place in the team) and James Spannington, Kwame Danquah, Chris Cashman and Marcus Bocock, Tom Shippey and Tim Jones joining the 3rd XI from the previous 4th XI.

Also joining the squad were several Old Lyonians: Dave Choy (2006), Paul Choy (2003), Marco Evans (2002) Chris Gooder (2003) and Tom Hinton (2003).

Along with honorary Old Lyonians Tim Jones and Tom Shippey, the Lyons have seen Samora Gager and Chris Lavey join the 3rd XI. Although they did not go to John Lyon school, they embody the values of the club and have been welcomed to the family after various initiation rituals.

The other major additions to the squad have been 5 16 year olds, picked up by chief scout 'Wardy' (no one knows his real name). Oli Mower, Conor Collinson, Sam Blackie, Rob McCullough and Steve Towler have all been welcome additions to the squad.

The sqaud have also welcomed long time servent to the club Josh Mastin, as Finance Director and utility defender.
